UAE Prosecutor Investigates Alleged Midair Stabbing on Flydubai Flight
The UAE’s Chief Prosecutor, Attorney General Hamad Saif Al Shamsi, has launched an investigation into a midair altercation on Flydubai flight FZ1073 after a co-pilot allegedly stabbed Captain Smit Machchhar and attempted to crash the Tel Aviv-bound plane. Guided into Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, by the wounded captain and passengers who subdued the attacker, the aircraft landed safely, leading UAE authorities—alongside Israeli interrogators—to examine potential links to terrorist activity while Flydubai suspended all flights to Israel.
